As it turns out, coffee grown at a single location can translate differently depending on the harvest and the roast. This collaboration between Brandywine and Methodical is just another way that coffee transcends our expectations. It’s proof that a blend can be an experiment on the distinct aspects of a single coffee; that two roasters can focus, each, on those aspects; that a blend can bring together two highlights of a coffee.

This transcendent blend is a juicy one, comprised entirely of two separate roasts of Rwanda Kanzu - one by Brandywine and one by Methodical. The coffee is grown and processed at the Kanzu Washing Station in Rwanda’s Nyamasheke district, whose hilly landscape is flanked by the Nyungwe Forest, offering cool cloud cover and diffused sunlight - optimum for growing fantastic coffee. The Kanzu was roasted by Brandywine with a focus on sweetness and by Methodical with a focus on balanced acidity. The roasts come together beautifully enhancing the inherent qualities of this washed coffee and showcasing honey-like stone fruit and a vibrant, fruity body.
